PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is getting some new wheels before the game leaves Early Access, lead developer Brendan Greene confirmed this week. The first of those new vehicles will bring a little nostalgia to one of the best-selling games of 2017.

It’s only been ten days since Bluehole published the last major PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds update: a sizeable patch that included bug and balance fixes, along with a new foggy weather map and the Mini-14, a new semi-auto marksman rifle that uses 5.56 ammo. But it should come as no surprise that the PUBG, which propelled an unfinished deathmatch game to the very peak of Steam’s Most Played list, is already looking towards the future.

Greene hosted his latest AMA for the PUBG community earlier this week, and the Q&A session yielded an abundance of information about the game’s past and future, including confirmation that three new vehicles are headed to PUBG in the near future. We even got a look at one of them on Thursday night.

According to Greene, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will get its own version of Volkswagen’s iconic camper van at some point between now and launch day. The van is one of three vehicles currently in the works at Bluehole and (presumably) the closest to launch, given Greene’s willingness to show the van’s in-game model, as opposed to early concept art or a simple written confirmation. There’s no timeline for the van’s debut; however, with the exception of new maps and the vault system, both of which are gigantic additions, we tend to see new content within a few weeks of it being teased on the PUBG sub-reddit and/or social media. So it’s likely we’ll see the camper van in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on or before launch day.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently available in Early Access. The game’s full release is expected before the end of the year and an Xbox One port is slated for early 2018.
