The Official Benchmark Software for the Dawntrail Expansion of Final Fantasy XIV Online is Now Available

Square Enix announced that the official benchmark software for Windows of the Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV is now available for download. It features new in-game areas along with new enemies. You also get to enjoy the additions that going to be introduced in this upcoming expansion. The benchmark software also allows you to test the ability of your computer.

The benchmark software lets you create a character, or import an existing one, and it's then featured in the benchmark's real-time cutscenes. Aside from the existing playable races that's available in the character creator, you can also create the new playable race that's making its debut in the game which is the female Hrothgar. That said, the appearance data of characters that's created through the benchmark can be saved for use in the Windows version of the game. Check out what the official benchmark has to offer here.

A Peek into the Dawntrail

The Dawntrail expansion is launching on July 2. As already mentioned, the Female Hrothgar is set to be added as a new playable race. As a quick background, the Hrothgar come from Ilsabard and the females of this race are few but are easily identified through their lithe and muscular forms. The females of this race also have another unique characteristic which is their predisposition for leadership.

New as well is the Pictomancer job. This is a magical ranged DPS job who works in the medium of mixed aether and uses a specialized brush to bring their imaginings to reality. These creations are not limited to weapons and creatures but can even include landscapes. Since evoking these wonders take time, Pictomancers have instant-cast abilities and spells at the ready.
