The Naruto anime is getting closer to the end of the main story but aside from filler arcs, the Naruto anime has adapted some of the “side” stories and it will do it again when the anime adapts the Hiden epilogue novels .

According to the Naruto Konoha Shinden Yukemuri Ninpō-chō novel volume releasing Thursday -- via Anime News Network -- three of the novels will be adapted this Winter.

The three Naruto Hiden novels coming are the Shikamaru, Sakura and Konoha stories.

The Hiden or Hidden Story novels are epilogues that center around a particular character, or in the case of the Konoha novel, characters. The Naruto anime has already begun to adapt these side stories when it debuted the Itachi Shinden arc in March and will add three more later this year.

With the main Naruto story finished, the Hiden novels are a great look into the lives of some fan-favorite characters after the Great Ninja War.

So far, there have been six volumes of the Hiden series: Kakashi, Shikamaru, Gaara, Sakura, the Akatsuki organization, and Konoha with just three volumes seeing English releases so far from Viz Media. Those are the Kakashi, Shikamaru and Sakura Hiden novels.

The Shinden novels include the aforementioned Itachi novel and the Sasuke Shinden novel, both out now in Japanese with the Itachi novel being distributed by Viz Media in November and the Sasuke novel planned for Spring 2017.

So what do you think of the Naruto anime adapting the Hiden novels? Which do you hope they adapt next? Let us know in the comments section below.
