Mass Effect: Andromeda ’s gameplay hours are being compared to a whole lot of great game that have come out recently like Breath of the Wild and NieR: Automata.. Wondering how many gameplay hours you should plan to invest in ME:A before you take the plunge?
Getting through Mass Effect: Andromeda probably won’t take most players as long as Breath of the Wild, given the latter’s more open-ended nature and remarkably expansive world. Our very own Bob Fekete completed his Mass Effect: Andromeda playthrough relatively quickly, focusing primarily on the main storyline and taking on a handful of sidequests. In his review, he noted, “there are so many missions in Andromeda, it was almost daunting. At just about every major hub in the game, mission markers are everywhere. The main campaign took me about 30 hours to complete, but there are many, many more hours of missions and romances and places to explore.”

This seems to line up with times reported by other players. Currently, GameFAQs lists 38.1 hours as the average playtime. (The sample numbers are admittedly somewhat low, at only 41 gamers, but that’s simply because most people won’t have managed to beat the game in only two days!). It’s worth noting that among the reported playtimes,around 65 percent spent more than 40 hours with the game.
With those figures in mind, we’d say average players will take about 35 gameplay hours to make it through Mass Effect: Andromeda’s main storyline and a handful of sidequests. If you’re a completionist, plan for something closer to 50 hours.
