LEGO Worlds finally has a release date on PS4 and Xbox One TT Games

LEGO Worlds , the Minecraft -like game featuring everyone’s favorite plastic bricks, will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on Feb. 21. If you are on PC and want to get going right away, you can buy the Early Access version on Steam right here.

“In LEGO Worlds, players will go on an exciting journey to become a Master Builder, in an open world made completely of LEGO-built environments,” said Jonathan Smith, the head of production at TT Games, in a press statement. “Whether customizing characters, exploring in vehicles, building structures, or discovering an expansive range of items, characters and creatures throughout the worlds, there’s the freedom to create anything imaginable.”

Developed by TT Games, the same studio responsible for all of your other favorite LEGO games like Star Wars, Marvel and others, LEGO Worlds looks to add more free-form gameplay to a typical LEGO game. Taking inspiration from Minecraft, LEGO Worlds puts building first, allowing players to make whatever they want from virtual LEGO bricks.

Additionally, players will be able to play with friends both online and via split-screen co-op. More games need local multiplayer, so it’s great to see one that does.

"LEGO Worlds brings the very essence of LEGO play – building – to the digital world, more than ever before,” said Niels Jørgensen, vice president of digital games for The LEGO Group. “We are excited to bring our physical and digital play models closer together and know it will resonate with our core audience – and engage new ones. We believe LEGO Worlds has the potential to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through its experience of open-ended creative play.”
