Over the last few Hearthstone expansions, we’ve been taken to the dirty streets, an epic party and a jungle full of dinosaurs. The next expansion, Knights Of The Frozen Throne, is speeding things up, introducing players to the tundra of the Frozen Throne. I wake up every day, put on my enchanted cloak, brush my teeth with frog mucus then head on over to reddit to see what cards are getting shown to the public. Today, we have a few freshly dug up corpses on the table, ranging from stinky to just plain gruesome.

Runeforged Haunter- This Rogue rare minion -- that looks like a cross between DC Comics’ Scarecrow and the blue tentacle monster from the Hollywood map in Overwatch -- immediately caught my eye. When it’s your turn, your weapon can’t lose any durability, even if you attack. That means, your measly little 1/2 dagger can actually stick around long enough to matter. Buffs like Deadly Poison and the newest buff, Leeching Poison , can actually get their values worth before dying. With Envenom Weapon , you can potentially kill every minion your opponent summons before they can kill your board. Combo that with a Violet Illusionist and you have the dirtiest combo Rogue has ever had, and I remember beta Miracle Rogue.

Corpse Raiser- This rambling ramshackle of a Death Knight dwarf is Ancestral Spirit, but playable. For five-mana, you get a 3/3 minion that gives another minion “Deathrattle: Resummon this minion.” It’s a Neutral card, meaning any class that doesn’t have a lot of useful minions can use this as a way to keep pressure on the board. Priests and Paladins are going to love this guy, bringing back a Priest Of The Feast , or even a Tirion Fordring, is an option that’s too good to pass up. It may not be the most-OP card released in the set, but it will find some play in Constructed decks. I’ll be testing it out in my Control Paladin deck to see if the hype is actually worth it.

Corpse Widow- I know everything’s supposed to be dead in this expansion, but not everything has to be a corpse. If you’re a Hunter main, you should be feeling just a tiny bulge in your pants for this card (or maybe I’m just projecting my own problems into my writing) because this card is amazing. For five-mana, you get a burly beast that makes your Deathrattle cards cost two-less. Free Kindly Grandmother, Fiery Bat and cheap Savannah Highmanes make Midrange Hunter great again. Hunters have the best Deathrattle minions in the game and a card that makes them cheaper has to be considered powerful by anyone with any Hearthstone knowledge. What’s most interesting about this spider is that it says “Deathrattle cards” so not just minions get the point-reduction. Currently, Hunter has no weapons or spells with Deathrattle, but with almost 100 cards left in the set to reveal, I’m expecting something awesome for Death Knight Rexxar to pummel his enemies with.

Righteous Protector- It’s a 1/1 Paladin minion with Divine Shield and Taunt. Argent Squire is still used and this knight is essentially her but better. If Divine Shield Paladin actually becomes an archetype, this armored-up soldier is going to be seen in every deck. If the archetype ends up like The Last Kaliedosaur, Paladin’s awful quest, she’ll still be an awesome card to use in Arena.

How do you feel about today’s card reveals? Tell us in the comments.
