A Dark Hell Traps Barry Allen In The Flash Season 4 Synopsis

If you thought last year’s The Flash finale was high stakes, Season 3 was even worse than Flashpoint. Instead of creating an alternate timeline, Barry entered the speed force to atone for his speedster sins. This leaves Team Flash, Iris in particular, in disarray. Harry is dead. Joe is probably devastated. Kid Flash is all alone. So what’s next?

The Flash is coming to San Diego Comic Con in late July and The CW has released a new Season 4 synopsis ahead of the event. If the impact of The Flash Season 3 finale hasn’t set in, it will once you read this. Check out the new summary below.

"Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.”

The season summary does not give us any new specific details, but it does suggest that Kid Flash isn’t simply going to replace The Flash. That theory was far fetched. How can you have The Flash without The Flash?

The new information also says there are ‘unknown dangers lurking in the shadows.’ What exactly that means is anyone's guess, but it appears Team Flash will have to face those demons to free Barry from the speed force.

We recently spoke with Keiynan Lonsdale, who said becoming the lead of The Flash isn’t on his radar since Kid Flash still has a lot of growing to do, but that doesn’t mean he won’t have to take the reigns to get Barry out of the speed force. When the season picks back up it will be six months after the speed force storm and hopefully, Kid Flash will find some help in Jesse Quick and Jay Garrick. Three speedsters are better than one. In the meantime, Iris will take Barry’s place as team leader according to Candice Patton.

How do you think Team Flash will get out of this jam? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for updates out of San Diego Comic Con.
