During the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct, Shadows of Valentia was announced as a Nintendo 3DS title along with two special amiibo featuring the main protagonists of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.
The new Fire Emblem amiibo featuring Alm and Celica are now available for pre-order at Best Buy along with Shadows of Valentia , if you choose to reserve them together.
Shadows of Valentia is inspired by the second Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Gaiden , which only released in Japan in 1992. Echoes reimagines Gaiden on a larger scale and acts as a remake of that classic game.
Every aspect of the Fire Emblem Gaiden game’s presentation has been updated, along with the game being fully voiced. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia recreates classic Fire Emblem gameplay with a modern twist, mixing in exploration of dungeons crawling with enemies.
The Nintendo Direct announcement revealed that the developers have built the game from the ground up so it’s not just a port of the classic game but a full-fledged reimagination.
It’s not known what the Alm and Celica amiibo will do within Shadows of Valentia but it’s likely they will open up new maps or power up your heroes.
Both Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and the Alm and Celica amiibo will be available on May 19.
