A little Twitter promotion from Felicia Day and Lin-Manuel Miranda helped Girls Make Games bring joy to a group of young game developers.

Felicia Day shared the Girls Make Games’ Kickstarter page for their game BlubBlub: Quest of the Blob created by a group of middle school age girls in their coding program. Girls Make Games launched their Kickstarter early this September and Day took notice.

Soon after, Miranda, creator of the hit Broadway show Hamilton , spread the word on his Twitter account. Girls Make Games’ Kickstarter has officially been funded with a total of $27,953 in donations.

With just 51 hours left to go, Girls Make Games wants to hit their Kickstarter stretch goal. A total of $28,000 would allow the girls to port the game to mobile platforms iOS and Android, while $30,000 means they can add character customization. $35,000 will allow them to port their game to Xbox One.

Girls Make Games is a camp that encourages young girls to explore their interests in technology. The camp teaches girls the processes of game development, which include learning how to code, create game art, compose music and sound effects, and much more. Girls Make Games also teaches girls how to pitch their ideas and enter their budding game designers into competitions to get feedback on their projects.
