E3 2016 is coming to a close, and gamers are already wondering about next year’s convention. The Entertainment Software Association, the organization that runs E3 every year, has revealed some impressive stats from 2016’s show and have announced when 2017’s show will take place. E3 2017 will run from June 13 to 15 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

With over 70,000 developers, journalists and fans, E3 2016 has been a rousing success. "Gamers were the winners at E3 this year. The advancements in technology unveiled at E3 will redefine entertainment for the world," said Michael D. Gallagher, president and CEO of ESA in a press statement. "The innovation and creativity on display will propel our industry to new heights and expand opportunities for remarkable growth."

The ESA reports that E3 2016 was also an overwhelming success on social media channels, resulting in over 7 million tweets, more than 500,000 likes on E3-related posts on Instagram, and more than 42 million gamers watching E3 content on Twitch, the official streaming partner of E3. Those are the best Twitch numbers for any gaming convention broadcast on the service yet.

As for next year, the E3 showfloor will be open from June 13 to June 15. If EA, Bethesda and other companies continue to do pre-E3 events, expect E3 week events to start Sunday, June 11 with the big press conferences coming Monday, June 12.
