The Dragon Ball: Super History Book has gone on sale in Japan and it gives Dragon Ball fans 30 years of art and an excerpt from series creator, Akira Toriyama.

But it’s what Toriyama says in the Dragon Ball: Super History Book that has people talking.

According to Crunchyroll, within the introduction of the book, the legendary creator shows his displeasure with the production of Dragon Ball Super and how the 2009 live-action Dragon Ball Evolution turned out.

Toriyama’s comments above are abbreviated because of Twitter but the full translation of Toriyama’s introduction in the Dragon Ball: Super History Book goes a little more in-depth to his displeasure with both projects.

Dragon Ball Super’s production and animation has come under fire from fans when it first debuted in 2015. The highly anticipated sequel to Dragon Ball Z has not been up to snuff in the animation department and fans have been bummed with the poor animation and retread stories from past Dragon Ball movies like Battle of the Gods.

It’s interesting enough that the publisher of the Dragon Ball: Super History Book left those comments in the introduction but perhaps Toei, the animation studio behind Dragon Ball Super, will take note and improve the product when the next arc begins.

So what do you think of Toriyama’s comments on Dragon Ball Super?
