'Doctor Who' Series 10 Premiere Playing In Theaters April 17 & 19

The Season 10 premiere of Doctor Who will be shown in cinemas on April 17 and 19, following the episode’s broadcast debut on BBC One and BBC America on April 15.

There will be only two screenings per location, one per night. Each will take place at 7 p.m. local time. Ticket prices vary depending on discounts and location, but plan to pay roughly the same amount as for a new movie release. It seems the official Doctor Who Season 10 media blitz has finally begun, to the delight of info-starved Whovians who have been patiently awaiting new episodes since the rebooted British sci-fi classic wrapped up its ninth season way back in 2015. With new episodes only a month away, we’re starting to get our first clear look at the new season, particularly the roles Bill and Nardole will play in the overall story.

Although seeing the Doctor Who Season 10 premiere is clearly the big draw, there’s other perks to attending a screening. Ticketholders will also have the chance to see the premiere episode of the spinoff series Class, which boasts a guest appearance by Capaldi in his role as the Twelfth Doctor. Fans will also see the a new behind-the-scenes feature called, ‘Becoming the Companion,’ which focuses on new companion Pearl Mackie journey from stage actress to a once-in-a-lifetime role in one of the world’s major sci-fi franchises.

There’s also some decent freebies to be had from attending a Season 10 premiere event at a local theater. A ticket stub or proof of purchase can also be used to get 25 percent off all Doctor Who merch at Hot Topic retail locations between March 10 and May 6. In addition, fans who buy tickets through Atom Tickets will get three free Doctor Who digital comics from Titan Comics and ComiXology, to be delivered via email the day of the event.
