New leaks out of GameStop’s Italian wing may have uncovered the release date for Destiny 2, the long-awaited and oft-rumored sequel to Bungie’s shared-world shooter, less than 24 hours after the studio wrapped up its Age of Triumph live streams. Details about the sequel, which Activision already confirmed would arrive in 2017, remain scarce. But the leaks do suggest at least one branch of the original game’s armory will be preserved when Destiny 2 heads to PC (allegedly) and consoles later this year.

The latest round of Destiny 2 conjecture can all be traced back to a pair of leaked photographs, each depicting the same promotional poster for the unannounced shooter. The first, a full shot of the poster, appeared on Lega Network. The second, a partial shot of the same poster, was uploaded to Imgur a short time later. The posters appear to be identical and both suggest a beta for the upcoming Destiny sequel has already been scheduled by Activision and Bungie. The poster also says Destiny 2 will hit stores on Sept. 8, a Friday, but it’s not clear whether or not fans in North America should expect a normal Tuesday release.

According to Kotaku, a formal announcement could be coming later today; however, it is worth noting that Bungie just hosted its last Age of Triumph live stream less than 24 hours ago. If the studio wanted to announce the Destiny sequel before the final in-game event for its predecessor, we’re not sure why the studio wouldn’t have run the Destiny 2 trailer at the conclusion of this week’s Sandbox Update live stream.

Destiny 2 is believed to be in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
