With a little over a month until Black Friday 2016 officially arrives, consumers are already searching the web for leaked ads and sales papers from major retailers like Walmart, Best Buy and Target. While the very first 2016 Black Friday ads has already leaked online, the sales papers people are really hoping to see have yet to appear. Based on evidence from years past, however, early Black Friday 2016 ad releases are likely right around the corner.

Dengler did an in-depth analysis of past Black Friday ad release dates and created estimates of when we might expect to see sales ads release or leak for various popular retailers. When Will Walmart, Best Buy And Target Black Friday 2016 Ads Come Out?
Last fall, Walmart, Target and Best Buy were among some of the earliest retailers to begin their Black Friday deals and sales – some of them before official ads were even released. While we expect these retailers to begin some form of holiday deals and sales around November 1st, the official Black Friday 2016 sales ads will likely release after the first week of November. Still, Dengler predicts, Black Friday leaked ads will likely come earlier this year than last year due to an earlier Thanksgiving date.
"Black Friday comes a bit earlier this year than last year," Dengler told iDigitalTimes. "In 2015, Black Friday fell on November 27. For 2016, Black Friday will fall on November 25. While it is only a difference of two days, every single day matters when stores are attempting to promote their holiday sales. Additionally, a few of the important ad leak dates from last year are falling on Sundays this year. While we have seen ads leak on Sunday, that is usually the quietest day when it comes to new news."
Walmart Black Friday 2016 Ads Release Date Prediction
According to Dengler, Walmart is among the most sought-after Black Friday ads for his website and based off of past releases, his prediction is that we will see Walmart’s ad scans appear online on November 10. Here are Walmart’s ad release dates for the previous four years:
- 2012 – November 8
- 2013 – November 11
- 2014 – November 11
- 2015 – November 11
Additionally, Dengler notes that Walmart’s in-store Black Friday sales are likely to begin at 6 pm on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24) and continue through Black Friday (Nov. 25).
Best Buy Black Friday 2016 Ads Release Date Prediction
Dengler predicts an even earlier release date for Best Buy’s Black Friday 2016 ads, naming their release date as November 9. Here are Best Buy’s ad releases for the previous four years:
- 2012 – November 7
- 2013 – November 12
- 2014 – November 10
- 2015 – November 9
Out to beat Walmart, Dengler predicts that Best Buy’s Black Friday hours will likely begin an hour earlier at 5 pm on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24) and continue through Black Friday (Nov. 25).
Target Black Friday 2016 Ad Release Date Prediction
Last year Target launched an aggressive set of Black Friday sales and deals along with daily holiday “cartwheel” deals beginning in early November. Based on trends for the last four years, Target is expected to release their official Black Friday 2016 ads on November 8. Here are Target’s ad release dates for the previous four years:
- 2012 – November 9
- 2013 – November 11
- 2014 – November 10
- 2015 – November 8
Target is expected to begin their in-store Black Friday sales at 6 pm on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24) and continue them through Black Friday (Nov. 25). Online sales are expected to begin Thanksgiving morning.
