When Is Black Friday 2016?

Black Friday traditionally comes the day after the US Thanksgiving holiday. This year, Black Friday falls on November 25, 2016 in the US. In Canada, some Black Friday sales may occur after the Canadian Thanksgiving date of October 10.

When Do Black Friday Sales And Deals Start?

This is a tricky question. While Black Friday 2016’s official date is Friday, November 25, many retailers opt to begin sales much earlier. For example, last year, Walmart, Target and New Egg announced that their Black Friday sales would begin November 1, while companies like Best Buy held special “Pre-Black Friday” sales on November 8 th .

Even if stores opt not to hold “early” Black Friday sales, many do choose to open at 6 pm on Thanksgiving evening for shoppers to take advantage of price cuts.

While the official Black Friday date will likely bring its own unique sales, you should probably start looking for deals to begin right after Halloween this year.

Apple Black Friday 2016 Deals And Sales Predictions

According to DealNews.com, older Apple devices like the iPhone 6, 6S and original Apple Watch are likely to see prices slashed as the latest iPhone 7 has now released to the public. But if you are looking for the best deals on Apple iPhones, iPads, iPods and accessories don’t start your shopping at Apple! The company rarely gives a price cut on their items on Black Friday.

For deals on any Apple devices, you’re best bet is to keep an eye on retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Target and Sam’s Club. Based off of sales we saw last year, here are our Black Friday sales and deals predictions for Apple products this year.

iPads

iPads are expected to see price cuts of over $100 during the Black Friday 2016 sales.

iPads are always a popular gift at Christmas and Black Friday is a great time to get deep discounts on them. Last year several retailers were offering up to $150 in rebates, discounts or gift cards on iPads. Here’s some of the prices we saw last season and accompanying predictions:

iPad Air 2

  • Sam’s Club - 16 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Air 2 - $349 ($150 off)

  • Target - 16 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Air 2 - $499 (Get $150 Target Gift Card)

  • Staples - 16 GB Wi-Fi only iPad Air 2 - $374, ($125 off)

  • Best Buy - 16 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Air 2 - $399 ($100 off)

  • Walmart - 16 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Air 2 - $399 ($100 off)

Similar deals were made available for 64 and 129 GB iPad Air models as well. Since Apple no longer offers 16 GB iPad Air 2 models and the iPad Air 2 32GB now starts at $399, we could see prices for iPad Air 2 models go as low as $249 at retailers.

iPad Mini 2

  • Staples - 16 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Mini 2 - $239 ($60 off)

  • Walmart - 16 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Mini 2 - $199 ($100 off)

  • Target 16-128 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Mini 2 – Get $80 Target Gift Card with the purchase of any iPad Mini 2 model.

  • Best Buy

    • 64 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Mini 2 - $399 ($100 off)

    • 128 GB Wi-Fi Only iPad Mini 2 - $499 ($100 off)

Like the iPad Air 2, Apple no longer offers 16 GB models of the iPad Mini 2. Since the iPad Mini 2 32GB model now starts at $269, we could see prices for iPad Air 2 models go to $199 or below at retailers this year.

iPad Mini 4

Though the iPad Mini 4 is the newest iPad mini currently available, it could still see price cuts at retailers this year. Last Black Friday , Target and Staples both offered $100 dollars off the iPad Mini 4. If deals are repeated, this year the iPad Mini 4 could go as low as $299 for the 32 GB model.

The original Apple Watch was still fairly new when Black Friday rolled around, but retailers like Best Buy and Target still managed to offer $100 off select models of the device. According to NewsDeals.com, the original Apple Watch could be offered for as low as $150 this Black Friday. The newer Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 may also see price cuts of $50.

iPhones

iPhone 6S and 6S Plus

Even though the iPhone 7 is out now, surprisingly retailers may not be offering a ton of deals on these older models other than the price slashes that are already occurring . Still, some retailers like Walmart will likely offer discounts on the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus or SE models. Last year Walmart gave customers purchasing the older iPhones a $75 Walmart gift card if they signed a two-year contract with a service provider. Similar deals are expected this Black Friday as well.

iPhone 7

While the iPhone 7 may have only just released, there’s still a pretty good chance some nice deals will be waiting on Black Friday. Last year Target, Walmart and Best Buy all offered deals for up to $250 off of the newest iPhone with a service plan at a given mobile service provider. The deals were as follows :

  • Target – $250 Target Gift Card with the purchase of an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus on a device installment payment plan from Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T

  • Best Buy - $200 Gift Card with the purchase or lease and activation of any iPhone 6s or 6s Plus on AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint, along with the trade-in of an iPhone 5 or newer.

  • Walmart - $200 off of any iPhone purchase made through AT&T Next or Verizon Device Payment. The discount comes in the form of $100 carrier bill credit and a $100 Walmart gift card.

We can’t say for sure what retailers might have in store for the iPhone 7 on Black Friday, but keep your eyes open. We could see similar offers this year as well.

As more becomes known about retailers plans for Apple Black Friday 2016 sales and deals, we’ll be sure to update this post.
