Konami announced the long-awaited Yu-Gi-Oh GX update is coming to Duel Links at the end of September, and a Steam version of the game will arrive by the end of the year.

On the official Konami website, it was revealed that a brand new world within Duel Links will appear as well as new characters and cards. The Yu-Gi-Oh! GX protagonist, Jaden Yuki, will be available in-game, along with Alexis Rhodes. The company released a teaser trailer for the upcoming GX update that includes other unlockable characters and their signature cards. Check out the preview of the Duel Links GX update below.

The trailer for the Duel Links GX update shows Alexis and Jaden are unlockable, and Chazz Princeton and Aster Phoenix will also be available when the update rolls out in late September. There’s also a quick scene of Professor Crowler summoning his Ancient Gear Golem, so it’s possible this character will be available when the GX update comes out, or shortly after. Duelists also get to see some of the GX characters’ signature monsters in action, including Chazz’s Ojamas, and Aster’s Destiny Heroes.

Some of the cards in each character starter deck have been leaked, as well as some of the level-up and random drop rewards. The Generation Next box set is now available in Duel Links and kicks off the GX Generation with a ton of Fusion support, so be sure to check that out before the GX update arrives.

Konami also announced the Duel Links Steam version, will launch this Winter. Duelists will be able to retain their collections from the mobile version of the game and face off against mobile players. It’s not clear whether Duelists can bounce back and forth between the Steam and mobile versions, but we’ll update as soon as we learn more.
