Whenever new duelists arrive in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, players figure out the best way to defeat them in the Duel Gate to farm special cards that can help them down the line.

Longtime Duel Links players know each duelist can drop a unique card. The drop chances are relatively low (especially for rarer cards) but if you can figure out a way to get your duel assessment score high enough, you can have a better chance to receive these rare cards.

We’ve gone over farming decks using Mythical Beast Cerberus in the past. While that deck type is viable to an extent, players have figured out other ways to farm specific duelists at Level 40, because at that level the drop rate of cards is the highest. This is also a great way to get duelist-specific skill drops.

So here are a few examples of deck types to farm each GX character in Duel Links.

JADEN YUKI

If you’re looking for some E-Hero support, you’ll want to farm for them by dueling Jaden. Despite how relatively weak the E-Heroes are, Jaden at Level 40 is very formidable and has a few ways of getting around stall/farm strategies.

Problems:

The two biggest problems in Jaden’s deck at Level 40 is having to face off against Neo with Skyscraper on the field, especially if he uses Heated Heart to bring Neo’s attack power over Gate Guardian’s.

E-Hero Darkbright is another monster to be aware of as it eliminates one monster on the field once it is destroyed. Normally, Jaden will attack Gate Guardian with Darkbright and use its effect to get rid of the Guardian.

Decks to use:

This Gate Guardian deck isn’t perfect, but is a relatively inexpensive way to farm Jaden. Among the cards needed to prevent some of the problems of facing Jaden is Floodgate Trap Hole. This keeps Neos in facedown defense position so it won’t destroy Gate Guardian. Destruction Jammer is a great trap to prevent Gate Guardian’s destruction when Jaden tries to destroy it using Darkbright’s ability.

A Horus deck is probably the most consistent farming deck, but it is a tad expensive as the main monster, Horus, is an Ultra Rare in the Generation Next set. Horus is essential to lockdown Jaden’s spells, so if you have the cards listed you can consistently get a high enough duel assessment.

CHAZZ PRINCETON

Chazz at Level 40 uses a deck based around the Armed Dragon archetype, which can be a pain if he gets Level 7 on the field. But if you want those Armed Dragon or Ojama cards, you’ll need to consistently get a good duel assessment against him.

Problems:

Armed Dragon LV 7 and even at LV 5 can be a pain if he has enough cards in his hand and the right monster to discard. He can easily clear your field. Chazz also uses Megamorph to power-up his monsters and Lightning Vortex to clear your field.

Decks to use:

This Blue Eyes/Vassal deck allows for the duelist to get two Blue Eyes on the field to stall until you get Vassal and the Union Attacks to deal enough damage to win. Champion’s Vigilance is essential to negating Armed Dragon’s ability, so try and get as many as possible.

Another strategy is using this Silent Magician deck that focuses on getting Silent Magician LV 8 on the field with Vassal to use Union Attack.

Or you can use this Dark Paladin/Vassal deck to get Dark Paladin out on the field easily and power-up Vassal for the finishing blow. This strategy uses Jaden as the duelist, so it’s a great way to farm his drop skill.

ALEXIS RHODES

If you’re looking for cards to fill out your Cyber Angel deck, you’ll need to farm Alexis and her powerful Level 40 deck.

Problems:

One problem is Cyber Gymnast, which can destroy one monster by discarding one card from the hand. This can destroy tactics that involve Blue Eyes, Gate Guardian or any other high attack monster. The other problem with Alexis is when she summons Dakini, which destroys one monster on the field when it is ritual summoned.

Decks to use:

Again, a Blue Eyes/Vassal deck works well against Alexis, but be sure to save your Floodgate Trap Hole for Dakini or Cyber Gymnast.

Floodgate Trap Hole is essential to farming Alexis and will help any other farm decks, like Silent Magician or Dark Paladin, but it depends on which cards you already have.

ASTER PHOENIX

Looking for more D-Heroes, farming Aster will do the trick. While his Level 40 deck isn’t the most difficult, it can be annoying.

Problems:

Destiny End Dragoon is very powerful and can take out any of your monsters, so save Floodgate Trap Hole for it. D-Hero Plasma, D-Counter or D-Draw can be problematic as well.

Decks to use:

The same Blue Eyes/Vassal deck used for Alexis can also be used to farm Aster. Floodgate Trap Hole will take care of Dragoon while Champion’s Vigilance will help with Plasma, D-Counter and D-Draw.

The Labyrinth Builder deck can stall out the duel until you have the pieces to unleash your final attack with Vassal. However, the Labyrinth Builder skill is a rare drop, so this may not be the best farm deck to use.

BASTION MISAWA

Bastion has a mix of different cards from Gemini to Water Dragon cards, so if you’re looking to build those decks, you’ll want to defeat him at Level 40.

Problems:

There aren’t a lot of problems you’ll run into farming Bastion, just be wary of being swarmed by his Hydrogeddon and Oxygeddon. You’ll also want to have a monster with a higher attack than Water Dragon.

Decks to use:

A Silent Magician deck can be used to farm Bastion’s cards. Get Silent Magician LV 8 on the field to stall out the duel until you get Vassal and the cards needed to deal a finishing blow.
