The latest Nintendo NX rumor suggests Nintendo might bring Super Smash Bros. to the rumored next-gen console. The buzz comes from Dr. Serkan Toto, CEO of Tokyo-based game industry consultancy Kantan Games. Toto released a series of tweets on his official Twitter account about the rumored Nintendo NX that claims Bandai Namco Entertainment is developing multiple games for Nintendo’s next console, including Super Smash Bros . Toto’s alleged source didn’t reveal whether it’s a Super Smash Bros. port or a new game entirely.
This is the second time in January where the rumored Nintendo NX generated buzz. On Jan. 20, Takashi Mochizuki, Tokyo tech reporter for The Wall Street Journal, tweeted about a rumor claiming the Nintendo NX would be compatible with the PlayStation 4 and PC . It’s an odd rumor, considering it would mean Nintendo is working directly with their competitors to possibly bring their exclusive games to other platforms.
Of course, Nintendo hasn’t commented on any of the Super Smash Bros. rumors about the NX nor have they confirmed a the console is even in development. As for the release date for the rumored Nintendo NX, Express UK reports the company plans on releasing their new console holiday 2016. E3 2016 is quickly approaching, so Nintendo might be waiting for the right time to drop the news.
