Star Wars: Force Arena has tons of great Leaders to choose from, but this guide is here to show you six of the best ones players are trying today. Want some tips for using a Legendary Selector wisely? Keep on reading!

USE LEADERBOARDS TO FIND OUT WHO’S BEST

As a constantly evolving game, Star Wars: Force Arena will often swap the Leaders that are popular at any given time. To get a feel for who the best players are using now, check the leaderboards. This can be done by tapping your rank at the top of the Battle screen. You can only see the boards for your level, but they’re still helpful when selecting legendaries.

PLAY TO YOUR UNIQUES

Each Leader has unique cards that substantially help their odds in battle. If you’re opening packs and see that you’ve unlocked a unique, you might want to work towards getting its Leader too. A supported Leader is great no matter who you have, so take that into consideration too.

WHO ARE THE BEST LIGHTSIDE LEADERS?

If you want to flesh out your lightside deck, here are three of the best heroes people are using right now.

1) Luke Skywalker: Luke is the Leader all players start with, but he’s still pretty great. In general, he’s more of a bruiser option with tons of health and a very strong melee attack. Because he’s designed to take so much damage, he can easily charge turrets in early matches. His unique card is nothing to write home about, but, especially if you can upgrade him, this is a great hero to main in the beginning.

2) Lando Calrissian: Lots of folks are using Lando right now, with good reason. For one, he’s a fairly easy unlock that can be obtained by completing mission 3. Beyond that, however, he’s also a good all-around Leader to have. His stats allow him to hammer on turrets, but he also does pretty well with range attacks. It’s also worth noting that his special ability can help recharge cards when you need reinforcements in a pinch.

Lando is an early unlock with balanced use and a fairly strong unique. Just like his movie character, he can be used to handle dirty work while Nien Nunb comes in for a flank.

Lando’s unique, Nien Nunb, is also pretty neat. Because he evades melee attacks, he’s pretty much immune to any card based on that strategy including opposing Leaders. He’s great to keep on the outside of an attack while sending in Lando to do the dirty work.

3) Captain Cassian Andor: Cassian Andor is a new leader, but he’s still pretty effective. He can be unlocked by finishing mission 10 but is a good Legendary Selector pick if you don’t want to wait. Just like in Rogue One, Andor’s real strength is in ranged combat. He can target any card on the field and has plenty of health to withstand sustained pressure.

In contrast, his unique, K-2S0, is all about melee and a focus on power. He’s got almost double the health of his Leader and doesn’t take long to deploy. If you prefer to use your Leader as a last resort and rely on your deck, Andor is a really strong pick.

WHO ARE THE BEST DARKSIDE LEADERS?

If you’re lured by the darkside of the Force, here’s who we like so far.

1) Bossk: Bossk has decent health and is a nice ranged Leader. His special ability that allows him to regenerate energy when Leaders are destroyed is exceptionally useful for getting forces together when the enemy is weak. His skill also allows him to stun foes with electricity, which means easy kills in tight situations.

His unique, IG-88, is helpful in the sense that it greatly buffs Bossk’s abilities. It lets out a massive, ranged blaster assault while also performing a neat spin move that vanquishes large clusters of reinforcements. Bossk is designed for range, and he totally kills it in that regard.

2) Emperor Palpatine: In contrast, Palpatine can be used in more close-quarters combat. He’s got a ton of health and really strong attack power. To make that advantage even more tantalizing, his power increases by 14 percent when any Leader is killed. Whether you want to mount a comeback or finish off your enemy, that’s a nice perk. He’s helpful for offense in any match or support in 2v2.

Palpatine may be slow, but he comes in with some seriously bruising power under the right circumstances. His unique also counters his weaknesses with decent speed.

Royal Guards are his unique, and they greatly make up for the fact that this leader is somewhat slow. With quick melee attacks, you can send them in first and let the Leader handle the rest.

3) Grand Admiral Thrawn: Thrawn probably has the most unique skill set amongst the listed Leaders. For his special ability, his attack power increases by 5 percent for every five seconds he survives. This remains true up to 50 percent. Considering his base attack power is already 80 and he has 921 health, that can mean a substantial boost.

His unique, Governor Pryce, is on hand to make sure Thrawn doesn’t die. Especially if you let your deck attack first and send Thrawn in for the final push, you can’t go wrong. At the very least, he’s lots of fun for high-level players to mess around with.
