One of the more anticipated games to be released this fall is Red Dead Redemption 2. The sequel to the 2010 hit from Rockstar Games was announced with a Fall 2017 release date. While no set date has been announced, fans are anxiously awaiting the time when they will know exactly when to clear their schedules. And now it looks like a British retailer may have revealed when Red Dead Redemption 2 could be released.
Littlewoods, on their Red Dead Redemption 2 page, posted that pre-orders for the game would be delivered on Oct. 2, well within the range of when Rockstar announced the game would be released in the Fall of 2017. Oct. 2 is a Monday, which is normally not a release for games as Tuesdays are the days when most games are released in the U.S. and Fridays in Europe. With that said, the Oct. 2 date could be worldwide for a game that everyone is waiting for and a way for Rockstar to garner all the attention on what normally isn’t a game launch day during a busy release month when Tuesdays can get crowded. .
What makes the Oct. 2 date unlikely is the fact that sites like Gamestop and Amazon both still have a placeholder release date of Dec. 31. Oct. 2 may not be the day but we also know that Dec. 31 is not the release date either. Anytime in October seems to be the more likely month of release with a possible push towards the holiday shopping season.
With the speculation regarding Littlewoods’ pre-order ship date, nothing has been said by Rockstar Games concerning the release date of the game. This is all that we have to go on regarding Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games.
As with all release dates on retailer websites, you have to take it with a grain salt until Rockstar Games begins to release more information about Red Dead Redemption 2. We are months away from anything concrete being released about the game so until then, everyone is waiting with baited breath for something more.
