Rainbow Six Siege's North American Mini Major Stage 2 concluded its second match for semifinals and the results are here. The NA Majors were held on LAN, which is pretty exciting as all the other majors were played online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The North American Mini Major had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. We got to see a variety of maps in play, teaching us new strategies that can be implemented into our own games.

The matchup between TSM and Oxygen was pretty exciting to watch. The first map was played on Oregon, which is a defender-sided map. The Nomad ban was actually quite surprising, but it allowed defenders to roam more freely. The first round was a pretty sloppy execute from TSM, as TSM only had 15 seconds to attack the basement site and it was a 3v5 situation in the favor of OXG. But then TSM stepped up with Emilio "Geometrics" Leynez and Jason "Beaulo" Doty getting two frags each while Matthew "Achieved" Solomon cleaned up the final kill in the last second.

Round four was an impressive defensive round from OXG. The Dining/Meeting site hold was extended into basement, with Gabriel "LaXInG" Mirelez and Davide "FoxA" Bucci from OXG playing exceptionally well. LaXInG roamed towards basement and killed two players with one magazine of the P10 Roni, which is pretty difficult considering the weapon has a fairly small clip and high rate of fire. The first half finished with TSM down 2-4, which is pretty decent considering Oregon is defender-sided.

OXG’s attack on round seven was executed almost flawlessly. Spencer "Slashug" Oliver’s entry got two kills, which allowed the rest of OXG to execute site. TSM then played extremely well and started to gain momentum, with Beaulo having ten kills. The match went all the way to overtime which was quite surprising because OXG was in the lead. FoxA clutched round 11 with Goyo by chucking a C4 on the planter. The final round of the first map was perfectly played by TSM, with Beaulo being an important fragger for his team.

The final map was played on Theme Park, which is a defender-sided map. The first defensive round from TSM was pretty nice to watch, as we got to see TSM extend the Throne/Armory site by roaming in multiple areas such as 2F Initiation and Gong. However, OXG was able to use this as an advantage and push site without clearing the roam. The round finished with OXG planting the bomb while the remaining defenders were offsite.

Round two didn’t go smooth for TSM, as Beaulo team killed while trying to peek the attacker, which made it a man disadvantage for TSM. OXG used the team kill as an opening and played aggressively, which led Khalil "b1ologic" Pleas to get three kills with Hibana. TSM then changed up their tactics a bit and started playing even more aggressively, which actually worked out pretty well. Merc and Beaulo from TSM carried the first half with 12 and seven kills respectively.

OXG’s round nine surprised the viewers as we got to see FoxA play Caveira. Caveira is an operator which is almost never picked when teams co-ordinate well, as Cav can get countered easily. But, FoxA played Caveira to stall TSM from entering site within the first minute and it worked. The mental pressure of a lurking Caviera stopped TSM from playing as aggressively as they usually do. In the end, TSM was able to win Theme Park with an 8-6 scoreline and Merc carrying the team with 15 kills.

This match allowed TSM to move into the upper brackets while pushing OXG to the lower brackets. The next game of the lower brackets will be between OXG and DZ.
