Bryan Cranston is one of the greatest actors of our generation. For Breaking Bad, he won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series four times. Cranston’s got a Tony Award and an Oscar nomination. All these accolades have given Cranston first pick on virtually any project he wants to work on and it’s with that privilege that he’s decided to join the cast of the upcoming Power Rangers reboot as Zordon, the floating head.

For the uninitiated, Zordon is a character from the Power Rangers universe, first appearing in the now-classic series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers . Zordon is literally a giant floating head suspended in a tube in the middle of the Power Rangers’ secret underground base. In Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie , Zordon actually dies after Ivan Ooze destroys the Command Center and, subsequently, Zordon’s energy tube. It is here when we meet Zordon in regular-sized human form for the first time. Thankfully, for Bryan Cranston’s sake, the Power Rangers are able to revive him back to life.

How Cranston is portrayed in the Power Rangers reboot remains to be seen. If the first photos of the Rangers’ costumes set the standard, then expect some massive changes to Zordon as well. Anticipate Cranston’s portrayal to be CGI heavy, though, since he’s joining the cast pretty late in the production process.

Power Rangers arrives in theaters March 24, 2017.
