There have been reports and rumors regarding a Pokémon game coming to the upcoming Nintendo Switch, and now a possibly accidental listing on GameStop’s website may have confirmed a Pokémon title will indeed be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

In the listing, which has since been taken down but was screen grabbed on NeoGaf, the slate of games coming to the Nintendo Switch is mentioned. Most of these titles and games were shown off when the Switch was first revealed but the following line will excite Pokémon fans.

“You will even be able to play Skyrim on the go, or Pokémon at home with the Nintendo Switch.”

Does that mean the rumored Pokémon Stars is coming to the Nintendo Switch? Rumor has it that Pokémon Stars will continue the story of Sun and Moon with possibly 20 new Pokémon.

Right now, Pokémon Stars is still just a rumor but with the Pokémon franchise being so large and spreading outside of the main series of games, this GameStop listing could mean many things.

A third version for Gen 7 is a possibility but the listing could also mean fans could get games from the Virtual Console, like the recently released Red, Blue and Yellow versions, and play them on the Nintendo Switch.

There’s the fighting game, Pokken Tournament, casual games like Pokémon Shuffle and Picross or the Mystery Dungeon series.

Hope for another Gen 7 Pokémon game was strengthened by a statement Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara made back in September, when the Switch was still called the Nintendo NX. Then he said that The Pokémon Company was looking forward to making games for the upcoming console.

“The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a handheld device,” said Ishihara. “We will make games for the NX.”

So what do you think of the possibility of a mainline Pokémon game coming to the Nintendo Switch? Do you hope it comes for both the Switch and 3DS? Let us know in the comments section below.
