The last Pokémon Go update V0.53.1 looked tiny, but it held a huge secret. Data miners looking through the code for the new update found a ton of stuff for Generation 2, including new moves, items and shiny sprites. It looks like the next update should be right around the corner, and it is huge.

Here’s exactly what the data miners found, courtesy of the geniuses over at The Silph Road:

New Moves

New Quick Moves:

Counter

Powder Snow

Charge Beam

Volt Switch

Dragon Tail

Infestation

Struggle Bug

Astonish

New Items: These are all used to evolve previously existing Pokémon; is trading finally coming?

Sun Stone

Upgrade (Porygon2 hype)

A “News” button is getting put into the game, so players can finally know what events are going on without leaving the app. There’s more Shiny and Gender code, and more avatar customization. Soon, you will be able to put a belt, sunglasses and a necklace on your avatar.

There’s also new Pokémon forms, though we know very little about them. Data miners are guessing that is has something to do with Unowns, allowing them to be different letters of the alphabet.
