Pokémon GO: Here's Your Guide to Adventure Effects

A new phenomenon is starting soon. Niantic

This February, Pokémon GO trainers are in for a treat! That's because the Legendary Pokémons Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia are set to make their debut in the game. Trainers are going to encounter them for the first time at the Pokémon GO Tour: Sinnoh. They'll be bringing with them a new phenomenon which are Adventure Effects.

What are these Adventure Effects you ask? These are temporary bonuses which can help you on your adventure. They're activated by powerful Pokémon attacks which may be used outside of battle. For now, there are two such Adventure Effects.

Roar of Time

One of the Adventure Effects happens when Origin Forme Dialga uses Roar of Time. You'll need to encounter and then defeat Origin Forme Dialga in a Raid Battle. Once this is done, you get the chance to catch one that knows the Charged Attack Roar of Time.

To activate the Adventure Effect that's associated with Roar of Time, you'll have to use 5,000 Stardust and 5 Dialga Candy. The result is that it distorts time for six minutes and pauses the timer of Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces. Once Roar of Time ends, the timer on any active items continue to count down.

The timer of this Adventure Effect can be extended in increments of six minutes by using more Stardust and Dialga Candy. This timer can be extended for a maximum of two each you tap Use. You can tap Use and to get extra time for up to 24 hours in total.

It's important to remember that Roar of Time can't be active at the same time as any other Adventure Effect.

Spacial Rend

The second Adventure Effect is Spacial Rend. For this, you'll need to encounter and then defeat Origin Forme Palkia in a Raid Battle. After that you'll have a chance to catch one that knows the Charged Attack Spacial Rend.

To activate the Adventure Effect associated with Spacial Rend, you'll need to still use 5,000 Stardust but this time the other items is 5 Palkia Candy. The result is that it distorts space for 10 minutes and let you encounter wild Pokémon at an increased distance. Like with the Roar of Time, you can also increase the timer for this Adventure Effect in increments of 10 minutes by using more Stardust and Palkia Candy.

Once the Spacial Rend adventure effect ends, Trainers now only encounter wild Pokémon within normal distance limits. Spacial Rend cannot be active at the same time as any other Adventure Effect.
