The Nintendo World Championships 2017 are coming fast and the company has revealed new information about the upcoming event including special guests, the games lineup and more.

On Oct. 7, the top 16 players from seven regional qualifiers around the country will descend upon New York to compete in the multi-game tournament, including 2015’s champion John Numbers. There will be two age brackets, 12 and Younger and 13 and Older, competing in a gauntlet of games from Nintendo's past and present.

Here’s the official Nintendo video previewing this year’s World Championships.

“Nintendo World Championships 2017 is more than just another video game tournament,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in a press release. “It is a celebration of Nintendo games old and new, and Nintendo fans past and present. Kids, parents and gamers of all ages will be thrilled by the excitement of seeing who will come out on top.”

One of the new games appearing in the Nintendo World Championships this year is the Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS. Not much else is known about the other games that will be included in the competition, but we will update as soon as we learn more.

Special guests will be at the event including actor and Super Smash Bros. tournament player Asa Butterfield and WWE Superstar Bayley. Online personality Andrea Rene, with play-by-play and analysis by broadcaster and Nintendo fan Jordan Kent, host the event when it kicks off on Oct. 7.

The Nintendo World Championships 2017 livestreams on the official site starting at 5 p.m. EST. Fans who are already in New York will have the opportunity to witness all the action in person. A limited number of free tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis outside Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom the day of the event (minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).
