The Nintendo NX is rumored to be releasing this November Nintendo

As we get closer and closer to the supposed June reveal of the Nintendo NX , rumors and leaks regarding Nintendo’s next console continue to pour in. This week, we have a brand new NX rumor that is focused on the device’s specs.

According to user untypedhero and his mod-verified sources on the Nintendo NX subreddit the NX will have the following specs:

  • x86 architecture.

  • Backup data to Nintendo server (most likely My Nintendo).

  • Support for additional screen.

  • Can handle ports of current-gen games.

  • Will be able to interact with smartdevice apps.

  • Using NX software will unlock My Nintendo reward points.

As with any unconfirmed rumor, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. There’s a lot to dig through, including the x86 architecture that could possibly support backwards compatibility and would also handle ports of current-gen games.

Whether this means you can use your Wii U game discs on the Nintendo NX remains unclear, but given the current state of gaming and how backwards compatibility is a hot topic, it shouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Nintendo.

As for the other NX specs leaks, it seems Nintendo is really integrating its brand-new My Nintendo Rewards Program and New Nintendo Account systems into its games and system. Users will be able to backup data to the new Nintendo server (like the PS4 and XBox One already do) and gain more reward points for using NX software.

The NX will reportedly interact with mobile apps like the brand-new Miitomo, unsurprising considering Nintendo’s push to get the brand name to the general populace.

Support for an “additional screen” is also listed, and may point to another controller like the Wii U’s gamepad being supported by the NX.

There’s a lot to digest with the latest Nintendo NX rumors, so we want to hear your thoughts. Are you on board with these new developments? Let us know in the comments section.
