Mass Effect: Andromeda is BioWare’s next big game, and members of the studio can’t contain their excitement. In recent tweets, designers and directors teased the game’s difficulty, antagonists and a whole lot more.

Despite the fact that Andromeda is a totally new take on the established universe, it’s difficulty shouldn’t be much harder than previous franchise entries. On that subject, lead designer Ian Frazier said they’re aiming for a challenge level “between ME2 and ME3” regardless of whether you’re playing on normal or a higher-tier option. In other words, the new entry won’t be a Dark Souls clone, but there should be ample struggle along the way for those who want it.

Speaking of struggle, BioWare creative director Mac Walters has hinted that the game’s two main protagonists, Scott and Sara Ryder, may have a slightly rocky relationship with their father. While the man wasn’t quite described as a villain, it was suggested that “if you were to ask Scott and Sara [about him], they might say he’s antagonistic at times.” In other words, the elder explorer might occasionally stand in the way of what your main character hopes to accomplish.

Beyond those two key details are a few minor clues about guns and romance. Close eyes on the Game Awards gameplay footage from last week noticed that Ryder was, in fact, able to carry two variations of a shotgun at once. Walters subsequently promised we’d learn more about loadouts “down the road.” With regard to love, it was confirmed that male and female Ryder will have different courting options. However, there will be some bisexual choices that could cross over to both siblings.

Playing as a Pathfinder, it’s the job of Ryder and crew to find a home for humanity in the Andromeda galaxy. There will be new and returning races to interact with, as well of plenty of interstellar action to take part in. The elder Ryder was first seen in the E3 2015 announcement trailer.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. Leaks suggest a possible release in March.
