Week 3 of the NFL season begins this weekend and the biggest news to come out is the return of the Color Rush jerseys and no more colorblind games. Thare are some major shakeups in the weekly player ratings in Madden NFL 17 as well. Numerous players fell out of the 90’s overall level, while some players are steadily moving towards it or well above it.

For the full list of the Week 3 player rating changes, check out the Madden NFL 17 ratings page.

Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks (down 2 points to 89 Overall)

Wilson just does not look like himself two weeks into the regular season. A bum ankle seems to be hampering his mobility, which is in turn hurting his ability to scramble out of the pocket and create big plays. At 1-1, Wilson and the Seahawks offense is struggling, which is contributing to his decrease in his overall rating as well as his mid-range and deep throwing accuracy as they both dropped one point. For Madden players, he is still one of the highest quarterbacks in the game so pick him up if you can.

Darrelle Revis, CB, New York Jets (down 2 points to 89 Overall)

The last two weeks has been a sight never seen on Revis Island – Revis trailing behind and unable to stop two deep touchdowns catches. A.J. Green and Marquise Goodwin both got past Revis and everyone is now assuming that Revis may be on the downside of his career. His overall rating fell below 90 for the first time in a long time while his man and zone coverage ratings went down one. If this continues, Revis may see his ratings drop even more.

Jadeveon Clowney, DE, Houston Texans (up 4 points to 88 Overall)

Since Clowney came into the NFL, pundits expectated he would become a dominant defensive end for Houston. Needless to say that has not been the case as he has battled injuries his whole career. While Clowney did not get any sacks during Week 2, he did get to the quarterback twice and had three solo tackles. Clowney is on the verge of finally living up to the hype that followed him into the league.

Tyrell Williams, WR, San Diego Chargers (up 3 points to 66 Overall)

With Malcolm Floyd out for the year, Philip Rivers needs weapons and Williams is next up. Against Jacksonville, Williams had 61 receiving yards and one touchdown as the Chargers routed the Jaguars. Will Williams become the next Jerry Rice? No clue, but inside this ratings update, Williams becomes a worthy receiver either for those of you who play with San Diego on a regular basis or as a fourth wide receiver on Ultimate Team.
