The biggest surprise from the March 3 Nintendo Direct was the announcement of a new Kirby game. Kirby: Planet Robobot will have our favorite pink ball fend off invaders as they try and mechanize DreamLand.

But this isn’t the usual Kirby platformer, as Kirby will be using the invaders’ technology against them with his new mecha suit, the Robobot Armor, which will share have Kirby’s unique copy ability to get through different stages.

While Kirby will have the usual copy abilities like the Fire and Ice powers, the Japanese Kirby: Planet Robobot site has revealed two new copy abilities. The Poison and Doctor abilities give Kirby new power to defeat the many enemies it will encounter.

The Poison ability lets Kirby use projectile poison to damage enemies. He can also use the poison spouting from his head as a geyser that you can direct.

Kirby can also ride a poison wave to increase his walk speed and damage any enemies in your path. This attack also leaves a trail of poison that will damage any enemies trying to trail you, which makes for an amazing ability in boss battles.

The poison ability will also allow Kirby to spout a gas cloud and perform a killer combo that’s similar to the cut ability.

The Doctor ability lets Kirby fire pills at the opponent (ala Doctor Mario in Super Smash Bros), which you can charge up to shoot pills in all directions and spin his cape-like weapon. Kirby will also use a clipboard to charge at an enemy, in addition to clock attacks.

Doctor Kirby will also use a syringe to shoot rainbow liquid in the air, perfect for flying enemies right above him. Kirby can also use his test tubes and lab equipment to concoct an ice attack to freeze nearby enemies.

The Japanese website is also teasing a third new ability that will be revealed and we will update when that is announced.
