The last game announced during the March Nintendo Direct was a surprise Kirby title for the 3DS. Kirby: Planet Robobot will follow our favorite pink ball on another adventure, but this time Kirby will have to face invaders from another planet who plan to mechanize Dream Land.

To restore Dream Land and defeat the invaders, Kirby will use their technology against them with the new Robobot Armor.

Kirby’s new Robobot Armor will help the titular character clear obstacles as he makes his way through different levels, and the armor also has Kirby’s power absorption skill, giving Kirby and the armor new abilities.

And, come on, who doesn’t want to see Kirby in a mechanized Gundam-esque suit?

Kirby: Planet Robobot will also have a Team Kirby Clash mode that lets up to four players join forces to battle against powerful bosses. Players select one of four roles, participating in a co-op quest to defeat a boss while supporting their team. Completing a quest earns experience points to level-up and grow more powerful.

Like many Nintendo titles, Planet Robobot will be compatible with all sorts of amiibo. The Kirby line of amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series will all work with the 3DS game. Other Smash amiibo will work, too: Mario gives Kirby fire powers and Link gives Kirby the sword ability.

Nintendo also announced a new line of Kirby amiibo specifically for this new title. The four new amiibo include Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and for the first time, a Waddle Dee amiibo. Each amiibo will give Kirby specific attributes especially the Kirby amiibo that gives the main character the exclusive UFO ability.

Kirby: Planet Robobot and the new amiibo will launch on the Nintendo 3DS, June 10.

The complete Nintendo Direct video has been uploaded to YouTube but not the individual Kirby game trailer. That portion of the stream begins around 57:15. We will update with the proper trailer once it's uploaded.
