It’s been awhile since a new character was revealed for Injustice 2 and the latest addition to the roster is one that fans have been clamoring for since the first Injustice game.
Black Canary joins Injustice 2 when the game releases in May and she brings her special brand of martial arts and powers to the fighting game.
IGN has the exclusive first look at Black Canary gameplay, which you can watch below.
Black Canary’s fighting style seems pretty similar to Sonya Blade from Mortal Kombat, in that she uses kicks and judo to take down her opponents. You can see that she uses holds to bring the pain and counter her opponent’s attacks.
She can also use her incredible athleticism to dodge projectiles and get in close for some monster combos. Canary also uses her patented Canary Cry to attack her opponents from afar but the range of her cry is still unknown.
Black Canary also has what looks to be a sonic bomb that can disable the opponent for a short time.
With how big of a role Green Arrow played in Injustice, it was only a matter of time until fans got to fight with Black Canary.
Black Canary joins Superman, Batman, Supergirl, Atrocitus, Deadshot, Blue Beetle, Wonder Woman, Flash, Harley Quinn, Robin and Gorilla Grodd as the only known characters in Injustice 2 so far.
Injustice 2 will release May 16.
