The Destiny 2 reveal train is still rolling over at IGN. A pair of behind-the-scenes videos offer fans a better understanding of Bungie’s approach to world-building and some insight on the changes we’ll see in Control matches when the Destiny 2 open beta begins later this month.

Warlock players have the most to look forward to this week, taking center stage in a four-minute gameplay video set on one of the game’s new PvP maps, Endless Vale. There's also a separate video focused specifically on the changes we'll see in Control matches. There are very obvious changes, like a new UI element that should make it easier to keep track of the team’s health and Super status. Each squad will also begin the match with control of one of the map’s three control points. The capturing process has also been simplified in Destiny 2. Teams won’t have to return the point to a neutral state before increasing their own influence over the point. But the presence of multiple team members won’t accelerate the capture process anymore.

The second video offers an inside look at Bungie’s storytelling process with Destiny 2. The video features commentary from senior narrative designer Jason Harris and cinematic lead Matthew Ward. Both say fans can expect a much faster, more intriguing story when Ghaul and the Red Legion invade the Tower in September. The duo compared the first game’s storytelling to a standard heartbeat, strong enough to keep you alive, but not necessarily enough for heavy action. But the sequel beats much faster, like someone just finished a workout. There are new heroes to meet, leaders to rally and new enemies to overcome. Most importantly, the duo says Bungie recognized the need to identify new ways to motivate the Destiny community and that some of those motivations will be baked directly into the game’s storytelling.

For an early look at Destiny 2, take some time to watch both of the new gameplay videos from IGN. Then head down to the comments and let us know what changes you’re hoping to see when the long-awaited Destiny sequel heads to PC and consoles this fall.

Destiny 2 is in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game hits consoles on Sept. 6 before making the jump to PC in late October.
