Assassin’s Creed Origins has an upgrade system for Bayek’s gear that requires a lot of hunting. The good news is players can easily find everything they need around Egypt. The even better news is we’ve got some tips to help upgrade gear pretty quickly. Here’s what players should keep in mind they’re scouting for prey.

TAMING

Players can tame animals in Assassin’s Creed Origins and they can accompany Bayek’s hunt. The Animal Taming ability under the SEER section of the skill tree will cost players three ability points. You'll need to invest in Sleep Darts first.

The taming perk allows Bayek to approach sleeping animals and tame them, which is why Sleep Darts are necessary. They will follow Bayek around and assist him in fights. Lions and Leopards make great hunting partners because they’re fast and fierce.

SENU

Players are doing it wrong if they don’t use Senu to hunt. Not only can Senu scout where to find soft leather, hard leather or pelts, but the majestic bird can also be useful tag the desired wild animals that roam in the area. Some animals are fast—Senu can help players figure out exactly how many are in the area.

HORSE

Get comfortable with the bow and arrow while ridingon horseback on hunts during the day. Animals like deer, hyena and leopards will outrun Bayek, which is why it’s important to hunt on a horse to level the playing ground. Hunting at night is a bit easier since animals will pack together and sleep around each other.

GET HIGH

Players will want to hunt animals like crocodiles, hippos and lions on higher ground whenever the chance allows. This will give players more time to set up headshots with their bow and arrow for an easy kill.

TAKE TO THE SEAS

If players are tired of hunting, animal pelts can be found on ships. It still counts.

LOW LEVEL AREAS OR LAIRS
Players can always fast travel to low level areas on the map to hunt if gaining XP is not an important factor. Players can also travel to animal lairs.

Keep these tips in mind in order to get more crafting items in shorter time. Unfortunately, crafting items cannot be bought to upgrade Bayek’s gear. Explore Egypt to find what the missing piece.
