The Assassin’s Creed movie doesn’t look so bad. A new image released exclusively to Yahoo! Movies gives us a close up of Michael Fassbender as Aguilar.

Aguilar is a new Assassin never before seen in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed video game franchise. Aguilar is a relative of Callum Lynch (present day descendent) from 15th century Spain. Why the Templars/Abstergo are interesting in Callum is unclear, but the revamped Animus looks really cool.

The new Animus forces Callum to go through the physical training of an Assassin. If Aguilar falls, so does Callum. The movie’s Animus allows the character to be a lot more mobile, at least that’s how it appears in the trailer. Callum also seems to interact a lot with new Abstergo employees as well, more than Desmond had in past video games.

With a new character comes new faces to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but don’t get your hopes up when it comes to cameos. You won’t see Desmond or his relatives Ezio and Altair. How closely the movie will follow the present day storyline from the Assassin’s Creed’s game is also unclear. Let’s hope they ditch Juno and anything related to her. Ubisoft painted themselves in a corner with Juno’s plot. Is she trying to destroy the world or just control it? Do we really care at this point?

But we digress. Check out the Assassin’s Creed trailer, also featuring Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Irons, in the video below. What do you think about Fassbender as an Assassin? Let us know in the comments below.
