Dishonored 2 allows you to pick between a father-daughter duo: Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin. They both possess unique abilities, but one character might cater to your prefered playstyle over the other. Here’s a list of Emily and Corvo’s abilities to help you decide which character to choose.

Corvo Attano Unique Abilities

Possession

Corvo has five different abilities/perks under “Possession.”

  • Possession- Merge with an animal to bypass security, scope out an area or avoid conflict. Cost: 4

  • Chain hosts- This allows you to go from one possessed target directly to another by essentially “linking” them together like a chain. It’s a great ability to avoid detection in areas you’re outnumbered in. Cost: 3

  • Lasting possession- You possession last longer. Simple enough. Cost: 1.

  • Corpse possession- Hide in a dead body. Obviously you won’t be able to move, but you can scope out an area this way. Cost: 1

  • Human possession- This one we like. You can possess guards to get through security points and avoid so much conflict. Excellent for those who want to ghost their way through the game. Cost: 4

Blink

Corvo has four different abilities/perks under “Blink.”

  • Blink- This gets you into hard-to-reach places and also helps you avoid detection. However, be mindful you’ll have to aim this ability carefully or you’ll be likely to miss your desired location. Cost: 0

  • Greater Blink- This extends your blink range. Cost: 4

  • Redirective Blink- Time stops, which allows you to better aim your spell. This helps with assassinations/takedowns without being spotted. Cost: 3

  • Blink Assault- Combine this skill with Shadow kill and you’re basically a ghost. This skill allows you to take down targets without being noticed. Nice. Cost: 1

Bend Time

Corvo has four different abilities/perks under “Bend Time.”

  • Bend Time- This ability should be used when you’re outnumbered and need time to get out of a sticky situation. However, it comes at a huge cost, so use it wisely. Cost: 5

  • Stop Time- You can stop time and do what you gotta do. Cost: 6

  • Lasting Bend Time- This bonus extends your Bend Time, which is great considering how costly it is. Cost: 2

  • Relativity- Time slows down around you. Cost: 1

Windblast

Corvo has three different abilities/perks under “Windblast.”

  • Windblast- This ability serves as a distraction more than anything else. Use this to deflect projectiles, scatter enemies or destroy objects. Cost: 4

  • Greater Windblast- This does more damage to enemies. Cost: 3

  • Shockwave- Use this when you’re surrounded by enemies It’s an effective way to clear an area, but not so stealth. Cost: 3

Devouring Swarm

Corvo has four different abilities/perks under “Devouring Swarm.”

  • Devouring Swarm- Ever want to see someone get eaten by a swarm of rats in a video game? Well, apparently Dishonored 2 makes it possible. Cost: 4

  • Greater Swarm- More rats, more damage, more kills possible. Cost: 2

  • Rat Piper- The rats follow you around like little minions. Cost: 2

  • Twin Swarms- SO MANY RATS. Great way to take out a large group in a big room. Cost: 3

Emily Kaldwin Unique Abilities

Domino

Emily has three different abilities/perks under “Domino.”

  • Domino- Link two targets so they all feel the effects of your attacks. For example, you kill one, they all die. You put one to sleep, they all pass out. Cost: 4

  • Link thee- Add a third target to your link. Cost: 3

  • Link four- Add a fourth target to your link. Cost: 3

Doppleganger

Emily has five different abilities/perks under “Doppleganger.”

  • Doppelganger- Make a clone of yourself to distract your enemies while you make your move. Doesn’t work well if enemies spot you and your clone, so use this wisely. Cost: 4

  • Baffling Shade- Your enemies are confused after your clone dies and gives you time to attack them. Cost: 1

  • Transportation- Pull a Parent Trap and trade places with your twin. Not the most effective way for stealth combat because it requires a lot of planning. Cost: 2

  • Deadly Shade- These clones will attack people. They will cause chaos. Perfect for killing your unsuspecting enemies. Cost: 3

  • Twin Shades- There’s two clones ready to help you fight. Great for fighting off large groups of enemies. Cost: 3

Shadow Walk

Emily has five different abilities/perks under “Shadow Walk.”

  • Shadow Walk- This ability is perfect for non-lethal takedowns. It allows you to kill or knockout a target without being spotted. Cost: 4

  • Improved Shadow Attack- Kill or knockout two enemies without being spotted. Cost: 2

  • Rat Shadows- This is a big one. This ability allows Emily to Shadow Walk through Rat Tunnels, essentially avoiding enemies in certain parts of the game. Cost: 1

  • Shadow Run- Allows you to move quicker without detection. Cost: 2

  • Greater Shadow Attack- Kill or knockout three enemies without being detected. Cost: 2

Mesmerize

Emily has four different abilities/perks under “Mesmerize.”

  • Mesmerize- This ability creates a distraction for two enemies nearby. Cost: 6

  • Mesmerize Three- Distract three enemies nearby. Cost: 3

  • Mesmerize Four- Distract four enemies nearby. Cost: 3

  • Lasting Mesmerize- Increases the distraction time. Cost: 2

Far Reach

Emily has four different abilities/perks under “Far Reach.”

  • Far Reach- Move or trigger objects from a distance. Cost: 0

  • Pull Objects- Move a dead body or object toward Emily. Cost: 2

  • Decelerate- Slow down time to avoid falling while using Far Reach. Cost: 2

  • Pull Enemies- Kill or knockout an enemy, but it’ll cost you some extra Runes. Cost: 4
