With E3 only a week away, developers and publishers are trying their best to build anticipation and hype. After all, E3 is the biggest convention in the gaming industry, and in the past, has been where the biggest, game-changing developments were first announced.

That said, Larian Studios, the developers behind the famed Divinity franchise, came into the picture with this teaser, which can be found on the landing page of the official Larian Studios website. While most fans would have attributed the teaser to the possibility of Divinity: Original Sin 3, one user on Twitter showed that it might actually be the third installment of one of the most celebrated computer-RPGs in history, Baldur's Gate. Here's the tweet that spilled the beans:

While the teaser is little more than a stunningly-animated and heavily-stylized 'III', it also brought with it several possibilities. Larian Studios is most popular for its work on the Divinity franchise, particularly Divinity: Original Sin and its sequel, Divinity: Original Sin 2. With both titles having seen overwhelming support from the gaming community and international success as one of the best RPGs of the decade, many who saw the aforementioned teaser assumed it would be the third Divinity: Original Sin title.

However, with the confirmation that it is, in fact, Baldur's Gate 3, and the rumors flying around that an official announcement will come during the Google Stadia event later this week, fans are even more excited than ever. The Baldur's Gate franchise was, and arguably is, the best video-game storytelling ever. Since Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn came out in 2000, the franchise has seen little attention apart from some well-received expansion packs. With Baldur's Gate 3, we're looking at title that fans have been waiting for for almost 20 years.
