Ever shared a YouTube Video to Facebook, only to discover it didn’t get many views as you hoped? It’s probably because of the way it embedded in your timeline. Instead of the big, beautiful YouTube video screen that immediately draws the eye, you get this tiny little video thumbnail next to a large written title of the clip. With all the noise on Facebook, getting people to read the title of a YouTube video, much less click on it, can be a difficult task. For this reason, a lot of YouTube content makers will opt to have their video uploaded to Facebook itself so that it will show up in the large, gorgeous format they were hoping for.

However, there’s a problem with this method – particularly for those trying to make a living creating YouTube video content. When the videos are uploaded to Facebook, the monetization effort is lost. Sure, you get a massive number of views, but no monetary gain. This places content creators between a rock and a hard place. Do they upload to Facebook and potentially lose dollars from viewers who might watch it on YouTube, or do they risk the video not getting seen because of the unattractive way Facebook embeds it? Neither alternative seems preferable.

That’s why YT2FB developer Mario Dabek created his new YouTube video link converter tool. The tool is simple to use – it just requires visiting the site on your computer, pasting the YouTube video link into the intake box, and pressing the “convert” button. In a few seconds, it converts the link. Press share and your link embeds as with the big, beautiful native Facebook video.

According to Dabek, who is also a video content creator, he developed the tool to streamline his video tracking while also making it easier for his videos to get the attention they deserved on Facebook.

“I didn't want to upload my videos to YouTube and Facebook. I wanted my videos in one place. And now they are. All the views counts are in one spot. As a YouTube creator, this is easier to manage and monetize,” Dabek said. “This would help, for example, people like Casey Neistat who had a video go viral last month. The video got 80 percent of its 25 million views on Facebook. That’s 80% revenue lost.”

Dabek’s YouTube Facebook video converter is free to use by anyone and works for Twitter embeds as well. In its first two weeks, the YT2FB website has already seen more than half a million visitors.

While Dabek hopes to add a premium version later with custom titles, link descriptions, analytics and other useful tools, for now he’s just happy he can provide something people find valuable.

“Nobody out there has a service to convert links like this, so I decided it was time to do something about that.”
