Expect to learn all about the Xbox Scorpio at this year's E3 briefing Microsoft

Microsoft has just confirmed that the Xbox E3 briefing for 2017 will take place on Sunday, June 11, at 5 p.m. EST. So what should we prepare to expect during this conference? Scorpio news.

It seems pretty obvious now that Microsoft will be debuting the new Xbox Scorpio at E3 this year. Not only is the Scorpio chip image from last year used in the announcement for 2017’s briefing, we also know that the Scorpio is planned for a holiday 2017 release.

While announcing the Scorpio during E3 is expected, it also might not happen. Looking over at Sony, the PS4 Pro was kept under wraps through E3 2016. Sony instead hosted its own event in New York City to announce the upgraded PS4. It seems Microsoft is leaning towards showing the new hardware, but don’t be too surprised if there’s no word on the Scorpio as well.

Outside of new hardware, Microsoft will be showing off new games and new footage of already announced games. We can expect to see some more from Sea of Thieves, and probably something Forza related as well. There may be things like DLC for Gears of War 4, but that’s about it for the known first-party games that will be there this year.

Many other companies also use the Microsoft stage to make announcements as well. It’s likely we’ll see EA again, seeing as the publisher works with Microsoft for EA Access, the subscription service that grants access to many EA games. There could also be appearances from companies like Bethesda and Activision, but we’ll see how it all plays out when it takes place on June 11.

Like previous years, the Xbox E3 briefing will be streamed online for all to see. Expect to hear more about the streaming schedule as we get closer to E3 in June.

So what do you think? Are you excited to learn more about the Scorpio at this year’s Xbox E3 briefing? What else do you want to see from Microsoft for 2017? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
