WWE 2K18 on Nintendo Switch 2K

Dozens of WWE superstars will body slam, drop kick and Irish whip their way onto the Switch this week when WWE 2K18 finally makes the jump to Nintendo’s portable console. It looks a bit worse than the PC and console ports, but we suspect the franchise will be welcomed back with open arms after the WWE 2K series took a Nintendo sabbatical in 2016.

According to a new blog from 2K, WWE 2K18 will make its long-awaited jump to Nintendo Switch on Dec. 6. Yes, tomorrow. WWE 2K18 originally hit PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in October to a mostly mixed reception. Some fans appreciated the game’s massive roster, which featured more than 100 of the company’s top draws from its past, present and future, while others lamented the series’ ongoing stagnancy, particularly when it comes to in-ring gameplay. It didn’t help that many of the same problems we’ve seen in recent years, like an abundance of bugs, resurfaced in 2K18. But now Switch owners will get to form their own opinions on the game. And they’ll even have a few options to expand the game on day one.

A handful of WWE 2K18 add-ons will also be available for purchase on Wednesday. Anyone who pre-orders the game, or buys their Switch copy before Dec. 13, can download the Kurt Angle Pack featuring two versions of the iconic performer, his “American Hero” persona from 2001 and his “Wrestling Machine” persona from that terrible ECW revival in 2006. The Cena (Nuff) Pack will also be available, featuring wrestlers Batista and Rob Van Dam, along with a pair of alternate outfits for 16-time WWE champion John Cena. The WWE 2K18 Accelerator, which unlocks all VC-purchasable content in the game, and the MyPlayer Kick Start, which gives you a head start in MyCareer mode, will also be available on launch day. Additional information on other upcoming WWE 2K18 DLC can be found on the game’s website.

For a quick look at the latest WWE 2K game, take a few minutes to watch the 2K18 launch trailer released back in October. Then head down to the comments and let us know if you plan to add WWE 2K18 to you Switch collection when the port debuts later this week.

WWE 2K18 is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game hits Nintendo Switch Dec. 6.
