A Week With Moshi’s iPhone 7 Cases: Durable Options With Premium Feel And Sophisticated Touch

After recently trying out Moshi Mythro Air bluetooth headphones, I also had the opportunity to test out five of Moshi’s seven available iPhone 7 Plus cases: Kameleon, Armour, iGlaze, Napa and Overture.

These cases range from 35-55 dollars, but all are made with premium materials emphasizing damage defense and style. Every case is easy to slide on and take off. Another important feature all the following cases share is military-grade drop protection. As far as the design, every case (except for Overture) has a slot to allow for the display of the Apple logo. But if you’re deciding between a few cases from Moshi, there also many important differences to note before making a final choice. Testing one out each day of the week, I noticed every case has a few distinct features.

Kameleon: Mon-Wed

  • kickstand
  • two beautiful colorways

Kameleon is my personal favorite Moshi case. Being able to use a kickstand is way more convenient than I ever thought it would be. It’s also better for the phone, preventing constant slamming onto hard surfaces. A soft, microfiber lining also protects your phone from the inside. If you tend use multiple devices at the same time, it’s nice to be able to prop your phone up next to the computer screen. The stand works horizontally and vertically, which is great for reading. The volume buttons protrude from the edge to make adjusting very easy, even in your pocket. However, the deep socket for the ringer switch makes it a little hard to toggle. The best part about Kameleon is the color of the case. The imperial black/ golden rose colorway pops while still looking professional. The Ivory White also has the same premium feel.

IGlaze: Thursday

  • comes in matted black
  • light & low-profile
The iGlaze is the lightest option.

IGlaze is the most minimalist case of the five. In addition to black, clear and mellow yellow, it comes in a pink and blue pastel. It also feels like Moshi’s lightest case. It’s so thin, it doesn’t make the iPhone 7 Plus much bigger than it already is. The black option is perfect if you have a black iPhone and want the case to perfectly match the color. The iGlaze is low-key and blends right in, perfect for any Thursday.

Napa: Friday

  • Marine Blue colorway
  • leather and aluminum

Napa is the only other leather case aside from Overture. There’s silver lining around the edges and an aluminum bar across the bottom, a design similar to the Kameleon. Unlike the rest of the cases, it has shatterproof casing in addition to a shock-absorbing inner shell. If your style is a bit more edgy than the Armor design, Napa is a great choice. It maintains the same sophisticated style of the Kameleon while still offering maximum protection from the inside out. Like Kameleon, Napa also has a soft, microfiber inside lining. Plus, it’s also one of the only Moshi cases that come in a deep blue color. Napa is bound to catch someone’s eye out on a night out.

Overture: Saturday

  • vegan leather
  • all-in-one
The Overture is a wardrobe must-have.

Overture is perfect for weekend nights, because it enables you to keep everything in one place: iPhone, credit card and cash. The smooth, distressed leather hides scratches and average case wear-and-tear. The subtle, military-grade hard shell casing makes Overture stand out, but it’s also what makes the case a little too big for the average day at the office. The flap makes it a little difficult to adjust volume levels on the left side of the phone without taking the phone out of your pocket. One unique feature is a square, detachable, microfiber cleaning pad that sticks to the inside of the case. All in all, Overture is quite handy for a night out where you’re not carrying a larger bag or need to keep all your belongings in one place. In addition to black, the case is available in Sahara White and Daisy Pink.

Armor: Sunday

  • comes in Jet Black
  • most protection
The Armor case is super strong, without looking bulky.

Armor is very similar to the iGlaze in that it’s good for almost any day of the week. The standout feature of Armor is that everything is fully enclosed, including the camera. The space between the lens and flash is covered by the case. Photo enthusiasts say this could have an affect on the natural light, though for the average person it’s most likely fine. The Armor provides the most protection while still maintaining that sophisticated, sleek appearance. A circle around the Apple symbol is lined with silver, which gives the case a touch of elegance. Another perk of Armor is that it comes in the same sought-after Jet Black color as the iPhone 7, as well as other sexy colors like Gunmetal Gray, Satin Gold, Golden Rose and Onyx Black. It’s definitely Moshi’s best option if you’re rough with your phone.
