One of the most recognizable voices in Hollywood will now help you navigate the roads. Navigation app Waze allows users to get GPS directions from Morgan Freeman, who has narrated documentaries, TV commercials and films.
The collaboration between Waze and Freeman is part of the promotional blitz for Freeman’s upcoming film London has Fallen , the sequel to Olympus Has Fallen . For some added flair and drama, the commands from Freeman include urgent quotes su as “The time has arrived, President Wazer. The world awaits your commands,” or “The American people are counting on you...to drive. Let’s go,” and “Accident reported ahead. I'll get a line to emergency command."
"Freeman, who plays the Vice President in the movie, will be there for Wazers from the start to finish of their driving missions," said Waze in a statement, reports PCMag.
In the past, celebrities like Stephen Colbert, Kevin Hart, Arnold Schwarzenegger and C3PO from the Star Wars franchise have partnered with the Google-owned company. In addition to Freeman’s navigation, the app will feature ads for the upcoming movie, allow users to purchase tickets from the app and give directions to local theaters where the film will be playing.
Freeman’s voice is available for iOS and Android devices and can be set up by selecting “Morgan Freeman” under “Sound Voice Language” in “Settings” on iOS devices. For Android devices, users select “Morgan Freeman” under “Navigation Guidance” under “Sound” in the “Settings” section.
