Fans will get a break from the depressing loss of Glenn and Abraham in The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 2, according to director Greg Nicotero.

Nicotero recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about a drastic change of tone coming in this Sunday’s episode. The Walking Dead fans might actually laugh during Carol and Morgan’s time in The Kingdom.

“The Kingdom is a place of light,” Nicotero told EW . “It’s a place of life, a place where people seem to have figured it out and have been working together to build a thriving and vibrant community very, very different from anything our group has come upon in the past. And they’re led by a guy with a tiger. There’s an aspect of ‘I don’t get this place, but you’re doing it right and how’s that possible?’ But Lennie and Melissa are doing some amazing, amazing stuff coming up in this episode. And Khary Payton, who plays Ezekiel, is a freaking terminator. He showed up with pages and pages of dialogue to do and he never missed a line. He was so, so excited.”

We’re not sure how the show will portray the Kingdom, but Ezekiel does have a connection to Negan. In the comics, Negan doesn’t really bother the Kingdom. For the most part, Negan has respect for the way Ezekiel has run his compound. It’s the one place where Negan leaves alone, which says a lot about Ezekiel. Negan doesn’t see Ezekiel as a threat, which is a good thing for the Kingdom.

However, Ezekiel never liked Negan and keeps his disdain for him extremely well-hidden. Like Negan, Ezekiel trusts no one. Negan might not realize it, but Ezekiel has eyes and ears everywhere, too. We can’t wait to see how Ezekiel, Negan, Gregory and Rick handle their communities.

The Walking Dead Season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
