Maggie might be physically ill, but she’s ready to fight after The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. She will become Negan’s worst nightmare once she finds the strength to lead her own group.
We won’t get too spoilery here, but If the show is anything like The Walking Dead comics, Maggie will take some time to recover at the Hilltop community. She will have her baby boy and name him after her father, Hershel. She’ll lay low for a bit until she figures out what she wants to do. She definitely won’t have a desire to return to Alexandria, but she’s a leader and won’t stay quiet for long.
Maggie and Gregory will have many confrontations. Gregory is sleazy and does things to intentionally mess with her. In the comics, he enters Maggie’s doctor’s appointments while she’s being examined. She’s usually exposed and Gregory looks at her inappropriately. Maggie puts him in his place every time. The people at Hilltop take notice about how vocal Maggie is. They see her ideas to keep the community safe as good ones and slowly open up to her about their feelings about Gregory. Everyone believes Gregory is a coward, including Jesus.
Long story short, there will be an uprising in the Hilltop. People will demand Maggie be their new leader, a responsibility she does not take lightly. She creates an alliance between Alexandria and The Kingdom, but isn’t afraid to fight Rick when he’s being unreasonable. She even punches him in the face during one of their intense arguments. Once Maggie becomes a mother her desire to lead and protect only intensifies. Gregory makes the mistake of crossing her at one point after she becomes leader. She then uses Gregory an example of what happens when you go against her. It doesn’t end well for Gregory, but she earns the respect of those who doubted her.
Maggie will persevere. She won’t lay down and die. She might be mourning the death of her husband now, but she will get revenge for Glenn. She won’t let Rick become Negan’s puppet. She won’t let her son live in a world where Negan rules over everything. We can’t wait to see where The Walking Dead Season 7 takes Maggie.
