Someone is about to piss off Rick in an unfortunate way in the second half of The Walking Dead Season 7.

Lennie James, who plays Morgan on the show, spoke to ComicBook.com about what The Walking Dead fans can expect in the show’s February return. A war is coming; what makes things worse is you won’t know who Rick can trust because not all the good guys will rally with him.

"On one level, it’s very obvious that we’re getting ready for war, and everyone who knows the comic books knows that we’re about to go into a couple of years of war," James told ComicBook.com. "I don’t know how long that’s going to pan out in the television series, but it goes on for a while in the comics. So we’re about to go to war, and the second block [of eight episodes] is about meeting the protagonists and certain events that are going to decide what sides people take. And it’s not going to be a clear division of labour, let me say."

James added, "There are some people who go to the dark side who are going to take you by surprise, and there are some people who are going to come over to the light – and that’s all a matter of perspective.”

The only person I can think of who would betray Rick is James’ The Walking Dead character Morgan. It’s possible The Kingdom doesn’t want to align themselves with Rick after learning what they did to the Saviors. Negan might’ve killed two of Rick’s men, but Rick’s people murdered Saviors in their sleep. Negan is the devil King Ezekiel knows, while Rick is more of a wild card.

It also won’t help Rick’s case that Carol wanted desperately to leave Alexandria. Carol opened up to Ezekiel about the burdens she carried while living in Alexandria. Carol didn’t want to be a killer and wants nothing to do with war, but Rick’s actions forced her in that direction. It wouldn’t be a surprise if The Kingdom fights for Negan before they would even consider teaming up with Rick.

Another option that would truly be a shocker is if Daryl fought for Negan. It’s possible Negan might’ve actually broken Daryl when he was held hostage. What if Daryl truly does become Dwight 2.0? It seems unlikely now, but Daryl’s a wild card, too. We don’t know what he’s capable of now that he’s filled with rage.

Who do you think will betray Rick? Let us know in the comments below. The Walking Dead Season 7 returns to Feb. 12 to AMC.
