Rick Grimes is trying to rally the troops together to finally confront Negan in The Walking Dead Season 7. However, it hasn’t been easy convincing other communities to join the cause. The Kingdom and Hilltop both said no. Meanwhile, Negan’s out looking for Daryl and another community is threatening Alexandria. It looks like an uphill battle for Rick that will only get worse.

In the latest The Walking Dead Season 7 teaser, it appears Daryl has acquired another crossbow. It’s not HIS crossbow; that one is still in Dwight’s possession. However, the crossbow does give him a little bit of his power back. Dwight was held captive for a long time at least a few weeks since Glenn and Abraham’s death. The show doesn’t really give a specific timeline Daryl’s captivity, but he was there long enough to see how truly evil Negan can be.

Rick can’t afford to hide Daryl in Alexandria, so he decided it would be best to leave him in the Kingdom. The problem is Rick’s abandoning Daryl in a place where he doesn’t know if he can trust anyone. King Ezekiel already turned down Rick’s plea for help. Daryl saw Morgan go against Rick’s word during the plea, so there’s no turning to him for help.

Then there’s Richard, one of Ezekiel’s men who actually wants to fight Negan. Richard is the one who gives Daryl a crossbow. He sort of baits Daryl with it, then asks him for help. And it looks like Daryl takes the bait. Daryl wants to kill Negan, why does he have to wait for Rick to do so?

One of the many problems Rick has to deal with is his people are impatient. They don’t know how to plot and make things happen over time. We don’t blame them. Even Rick was hasty when dealing with Negan. The two most eager to kill Negan in Alexandria are Rosita and Daryl. Rosita probably get someone killed again, but we’re most concerned about Daryl at the moment. He’s ready for a fight and Rick won’t give him one. Daryl’s always been a lone wolf. He doesn’t need Alexandria to survive.
