While at PAX East, iDigitalTimes was drawn to the Bucking Couch. This bizarre creation was a mix of playing video games on a couch and riding a mechanical bull. See it in action below:

The couch was co-sponsored by game publisher SEGA and Totino’s, purveyors of fine microwavable pizza and other snacks. Totino’s rep Nicole Griebrok spoke to iDigitalTimes on the perfect way to cook a pizza roll and how gamers can enjoy their snack without getting everything dirty.

“The couch concept is all about building entertainment on entertainment,” Griebrok said. “Gamers love to game, but we wanted to elevate that experience a little more. Not only is it a new challenge for the gamer, it can be super fun to watch as well.”

While riding the couch, gamers were treated to the original Sonic the Hedgehog, re-released on Xbox One. “We wanted to make sure that gamers who came to the Bucking Couch had a game they would love to play,” Griebrok said. “For many of our fans, pizza rolls are nostalgic and so is Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s Sonic’s 25th year anniversary this year, so it really was the perfect combination.”

Next came the tough questions: How do you cook the perfect pizza roll, and how can gamers keep their controllers grease-free while snacking and gaming? “In my opinion, [the best way to cook a pizza roll] is the regular oven. Sometimes you just can’t wait, though, so you can still pop them in the microwave for sixty seconds,” Griebrok said.

As for cleanliness, Griebrok recommends using an eating utensil you might not be thinking of. “We have chopsticks,” she said while handing over a nice Totino’s branded pair. “Use chopsticks when you eat your pizza rolls, then you don’t puncture them with a fork while not getting your controller greasy.”

While that may help, it still seems a bit inconvenient to have to take your hands off a controller to eat. As for Totino’s making an even easier snack for gamers, Griebrok mentioned it’s something the company is thinking about. “We will have to see, it’s on our radar,” she said.

So what do you think? Are you going to try using chopsticks when eating your next box of pizza rolls? What is your preferred cooking style for your snacks? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
