Super Mario Run is the first ever Nintendo mobile game and while some gamers have been clamoring to see Mario come to their mobile devices, the asking price for the game may seem a bit steep.

At $9.99, some prospective players may want to hold off from purchasing the game until they know what they are getting.

While mobile games usually cost one to five dollars, the ten dollar Mario runner may seem a bit steep. Is it worth the price or can players enjoy the free version?

FREE VERSION

The free version of Super Mario Run gives players all the game modes that the paid version provides.

Toad Rally and Kingdom Builder are just like the paid version and lets players compete against friends and build their own Kingdom.

The Super Mario Run mode that lets you collect coins and complete levels is just like the paid/full version, however, you can only go through the first three levels of the first world and have a 20-second demo of the castle level of the first world.

Players who only play for free can’t unlock Princess Peach in the game.

PAID VERSION

The paid version of Super Mario Run comes with 21 more levels for players to run through and as we mentioned in the free version section, Princess Peach will be unlocked when you complete every level.

If you purchase the full version, you’ll also get extra coins and Toad Tickets to participate more in Toad Rally.

Here’s a screenshot of what players get for purchasing the full game.

WHICH IS BETTER?

So should you purchase the full Super Mario Run game? It’s a tough decision because the $9.99 price is a pretty steep one for a mobile game but if you want the full experience along with everything that comes after (future updates, more stages, etc..) then you’ll want to pony up the money.

However, if you’re a casual mobile game player and are happy with just grinding coins and playing other players in Toad Rally then you can probably live on the free version alone.

Ultimately the decision is yours but if you’re a gamer looking for a complete experience then we recommend purchasing the full version.

But we want to know what you think, have you purchased the game and regretted it? Are you enjoying the full game? Let us know in the comments section below.
