There’s a lot to love in Super Mario Odyssey and the various outfits players can dress Mario up as is just a hint of the charm and wonder of this Nintendo Switch game.

As for the outfits, they can be found in the two Crazy Cap shops that appear in every Kingdom in the game. One shop accepts only Purple Coins, the Kingdom-exclusive currency that players can find in various areas. You can also purchase souvenirs from the various Kingdoms to decorate your ship.

The other shop accepts the Gold Coins that act as your lives in the game. You can also purchase hearts and even Power Moons.

Also, the more Kingdoms you visit the more clothing options become available so go out and explore.

Players who own specific amiibo figures can also unlock various outfits from the game simply by tapping them during the game. You will be able to unlock these outfits as you progress through the game but it acts as a shortcut for those who want them from the start or to save Gold.

REVIEW SUMMARY
Super Mario Odyssey
10.0
Charming, Fun And The Best Game Of 2017
The Nintendo Switch title has slick controls, amazing visuals and a charm (there’s that word again) that I haven't come across before. The story is simple but supplemented with a large cast of new characters and worlds that expand the Mario Universe in a way that, hopefully, Nintendo can expand on for years to come. It’s accessible for younger players and challenging enough for veterans.
  • Visually pleasing
  • Great Story
  • Controls are amazing and uses Switch motion controls the best
  • Great new characters and environments
  • Could be more difficult
  • Camera angles can get annoying
