Super Mario Odyssey’s Cloud Kingdom only has nine Power Moons, but you won’t be able to get them all right away. In fact, it’s best to finish the main storyline before coming back to the Cloud Kingdom to make collecting the Power Moons easier. Anyway, here are the nine Power Moon locations for the Cloud Kingdom.

Power Moon #1 - Picture Match: Basically A Goomba

Find a warp pipe, enter it and talk to Toad. This will start a challenge where you have to recreate a picture of a Goomba using only your memory. If you want to cheat a little, take a screenshot of the Goomba to use as a reference as you reconstruct him. Get at least 60 points and Toad will reward you with a Power Moon.

Power Moon #2 - Peach In The Cloud Kingdom

Once Bowser has been defeated, Peach will show up in the Cloud Kingdom. To find her, go north to the moon phase platforms. Peach and Tiara will be standing on top of one. Talk to her for the Power Moon.

To gain access to Power Moons 3-9, you’ll need to return after defeating Bowser and smashing the moon rock. It will show where the rest of the Power Moons are.

Power Moon #3 - Digging In The… Cloud?

While at the moon phase platforms for #2, go to the half moon platform next to the Toad and feel for vibrations. When the vibrations are at the strongest, do a ground pound to uncover the Power Moon.

Power Moon #4 - High, High Above The Clouds

Find the row of cap clouds, and jump from one to the next until you reach a platform with a sunburst. Ground pound on the sunburst to shoot up to another area with cap clouds. Jump across these clouds quickly to make it to the Power Moon. You’ll need to act fast, so make sure your Cappy throws are lined up each time.

Power Moon #5 - Crossing The Cloud Sea

Once you break open the Moon Rock, you’ll find a locked Power Moon below. To get the key, go north from the locked panel and jump across a string of cap clouds after going down a curved staircase. Once you get the key, return to the panel to unlock it, then retrieve your Power Moon.

Power Moon #6 - Taking Notes: Up And Down

Find a sunburst platform east of the Nimbus Arena by jumping along a few cap clouds. Once at the platform, ground pound it to send you up into the air. There will be a treble clef here, so walk into it. 16 notes will appear in four groups of four. You’ll need to throw Cappy at the notes quickly to collect them all in time. You might need to do this a few times to figure out a strategy, because the platform moves quickly.

Power Moon #7 - Picture Match: A Stellar Goomba

Do the same mission you did to get Moon #1, only now you need to score 80 or better. Again, it’s easier if you take a screenshot first, so you have something to refer to when recreating the Goomba.

Power Moon #8 - King Of The Cube!

Go down the Moon Pipe by the Hint Toad and you’ll start a 2D level on a cube. This is one of the “Collect the 5 shards” Power Moons, so go through each face of the cube collecting all five. Once you get the fifth shard, you’ll get the Power Moon.

Power Moon #9 - The Sixth Face

Do the same thing you did for #8, except stop when you get to the fourth face of the cube. Instead of dropping down, find the hidden block next to the drop-down spot. Use this to climb up to the warp pipe at the top of the screen. This will take you to the sixth face of the cube, which has its own Power Moon surrounded by Fuzzies.

REVIEW SUMMARY
Super Mario Odyssey
10.0
Charming, Fun And The Best Game Of 2017
The Nintendo Switch title has slick controls, amazing visuals and a charm (there’s that word again) that I haven't come across before. The story is simple but supplemented with a large cast of new characters and worlds that expand the Mario Universe in a way that, hopefully, Nintendo can expand on for years to come. It’s accessible for younger players and challenging enough for veterans.
  • Visually pleasing
  • Great Story
  • Controls are amazing and uses Switch motion controls the best
  • Great new characters and environments
  • Could be more difficult
  • Camera angles can get annoying
